Holidays at The Coho -- 12/12/2015

December is one of best times of the year to come down to the coast without the normal crowds or the higher rates that normally comes with a trip down to the beach. There is so much to do and see in Lincoln City and the surrounding areas of our central location makes us an ideal spot to start your winter adventure. Even with the colder weather the sun usually still makes a decent number of appearances in December and even if not it makes for wonderful storm watching opportunities snuggled next to a fire in your room. Here are some of the things taking place in the area for December. We hope to see you soon!

Finders Keepers is going strong.

Hundreds of floats will be dropped during the month of December with additional holiday themed floats being put out during Christmas and New Years. The time has never been better for your chance to find one of these beach jewels.

The Sea of Lights at the Oregon Coast Aquarium.

Kick off weekend is Dec 4th - Dec 6th and will be running through December every Saturday and Sunday from 5:00pm to 8:00pm.

Over half a million colorful lights and holiday decorations will surround visitors with the spirit of the season as they explore the Aquarium after hours. Santa will be present every night of Sea of Lights until Christmas to pose for photos and note visitors’ Christmas wishes.

Oregon Whale Watching:

Mid to late December is peak activity time for viewing gray whales during their southern migration to Mexico. Even now our current guests are amazed at how easy it's been to see whales breaching right off the coastline. You can see these majestic creatures from your ocean view room at The Coho, or whale watching expeditions are running hourly from some of our favorite local charter boat operators like Trade Winds.

New Years Eve at Chinook Winds Casino.

Always the place to be to spend New Years. Eating, dancing and a huge display to watch the ball drop from New York's Time Square.

Doors to the convention center open at 9pm and the party doesn't end until 2016! Shuttles running every 30 minutes to The Coho and other lodging areas throughout the night to ensure everyone can celebrate safely.
